      • Artikrill Horse Foalsis a new joint supplement"Doping free", rich in Krill Oil, long chain Omega 3 Fatty Acids, Hyaluronic Acid and chondroprotectors, forfoals and yearlings with osteoarticular problems.

Being devoid of side effects and "doping", it can be used for prolonged treatment ofjoint pathologieso to prevent and repair icartilage damage, common at a young age.

Thanks to the presence of long-chain Omega 3 fatty acids combined with effective chondroprotectors, it promotes the prevention of inflammatory joint damage as well as improving cartilage regeneration.

Furthermore, thanks to the long-chain Omega 3 effect on blood circulation, Artikrill Horse Foedri intervenes directly at the base of the pathogenetic mechanism of pathologies such as osteochondrosis, preventing ischemic damage to the cartilaginous blood vessels.

        WHY USE IT?

        • Artikrill Horse Foals is indicated for theprevention of osteochondrosisin foals (yearlings) thanks to the action of Omega 3 which, by promoting peripheral blood circulation, reduce ischemic damage allowing optimal ossification.

        • Thanks to the synergistic action of EPA and DHA with chondroprotectors, it increases theanti-inflammatory effect(pain reliever) and reduces cartilage degradation compared to treatment with a single chondroprotector.

        • Having neither side effects nor "doping" effect, it can be used for long-term treatments ofjoint pathologiesof the foal, starting from the post-weaning phase.

        • The presence of chondroprotectors in the product allows theregenerationof cartilage tissue damaged by osteochondritis during the growth phase of foals.

        • L'antioxidant activityof astaxanthin (present in Krill Oil) and curcumin allows the neutralization of free radicals produced in the joints as a result of the early and intense physical effort of the foal.

        • Curcumin is able to facilitate thechondrogenesis, thus promoting the regeneration of articular cartilage in foals suffering from osteochondrosis.

        • The fatty acids EPA and DHA contained in the phospholipids of Krill Oil, by hindering the presence of arachidonic acid in cell membranes, reduce inflammatory infiltration in damaged joint cells.

         BENEFITS? YES, CERTAINLY!
The traditional treatment of osteochondritis and osteochondrosis in foals and yearlings involves the use of anti-inflammatory drugs, which have proved to be excellent contrast agents but far from free of side effects:

        • The main effect of NSAIDs isinhibition of cyclooxygenase(COX2), resulting in blocking the conversion of arachidonic acid to prostaglandins (PGE2) and inflammatory leukotrienes (LTB4) (Furst and Hillson, 2001).

        • NSAIDs, in addition to causing the problem of doping, inhibit the production of both pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory prostaglandins, with consequent negative side effects.

        • Cortisones inhibit phospholipase A2 thus blocking the release of free arachidonic acid and the production of proinflammatory prostaglandins; their prolonged and repeated use is to be avoided as, in addition to causing the problem of doping, they delay the regeneration of cartilage (Goodrich et al., 2010).

In conclusion, it can therefore be said that the traditional treatment left some "open problems", such as doping effect, short duration, poor selectivity of anti-inflammatory treatment, delay in cartilage repair and no prevention of ischemic damage.

For these reasons NBFlanes tried to remedy the problems by launching Artikrill Horse foals on the market.

It is important to take into account the composition ofAtrikrill Horse Foals, because this is the only way to appreciate the quality of this product before trying it on your foal or yearling.

COMPOSITION of 70 ml (68 g) by "Artikrill Horse foals"

        EPA(Eicosapentaenoic acid):9 g

        • Long chain polyunsaturated Omega 3 fatty acid (20 carbon atoms) which replaces arachidonic acid in the cell membrane, direct precursor of various proinflammatory mediators

        • Direct precursor of the anti-inflammatory mediators PGE3, TXA3, LTB5

        • Stimulates the production of E series resolvins, powerful anti-inflammatory, capable of promoting the resolution of the inflammatory process (Z. Xu et al, 2010)

        DHA(Docosahexaenoic acid):6 g

        • Long chain polyunsaturated Omega 3 fatty acid (22 carbon atoms)

        • It is an essential component of the cell membrane because it promotes its stability

        • Direct precursor of key D-series protectins, along with D-series resolvins, to resolve inflammation (Hurst et al .; 2010)

        GLUCOSAMINE SULFATE: 5.7 g

Glucosamine is an aminosaccharide which acts as a precursor of the basic unit constituting glycosaminoglycans. In addition to its structural role, as a chondroprotective agent, glucosamine stimulates the synthesis of proteoglycans and collagen from chondrocytes. Since osteochondrosis is established, the administration of glucosamine increases the synthesis of the cartilage matrix and seems to counteract or even reverse osteochondrosis phenomena, thanks also to its anti-inflammatory activity (Vlad et al, 2007).

        CHONDROITIN SULFATE: 1.28 g

Chondroitin sulfate is the most abundant glycosaminoglycan present in joint cartilage. Its chondroprotective properties derive from the ability to inhibit the enzymes that degrade the cartilage matrix in osteochondrosis. Chondroitin sulfate also contributes to preventing the formation of fibrin thrombi in the microvessels of the synovium and subchondral bone (Cleg et al, 2006).

        CURCUMIN: 845.0 mg

Curcumin, a phytochemical compound, has remarkable anti-inflammatory properties as it inhibits the biosynthesis of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. Unlike NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), curcumin does not cause negative side effects.

It also acts as a free radical scavenger and as an antioxidant, inhibiting lipid peroxidation and oxidative DNA damage (M. Mathy-Hartert, 2009)

        KRILL OIL: 1,050 mg

Krill oil is obtained from the cold extraction of the lipid fraction of mini crustaceans that live mainly in the cold waters of the Antarctic. Krill oil is the subject of numerous scientific studies for its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. In fact it is particularly rich in both fatty acids of the Omega 3 series (EPA and DHA) and astaxanthin, a powerful antioxidant in countering the negative effect of ROS (oxygen free radicals) (M. Ierna et al, 2010)

        HYALURONIC ACID: 0.120 g

Hyaluronic acid is a glycosaminoglycan composed of glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine. At the joint level, hyaluronic acid acts as a lubricating agent capable of absorbing shocks in the synovial fluid; it also controls the permeability of the synovial membrane thus preventing joint effusions and consequent swelling. Other effects of hyaluronic acid include promoting cartilage matrix synthesis and re-aggregation of proteoglycans.
